Hello, curious! My name is Betsy Cook and I'm the woman behind the brand National Picnic. 

For over 10 years I have been designing and sewing clothing I like to wear. I am beyond happy that I have fans that also like to wear what I make. Over the years I have developed my own patterns, and my business has gotten bigger and smaller (and then bigger, and then smaller again). As the brand has evolved I have edited the way I sell. 

How I make my clothing:

I cut and sew in atelier (in my studio workshop) from a pattern library of styles I designed to be well-fitting and fun, based on classic pieces loyal customers rely on season after season. 

Make-to-order and small batch production is the heart of what I do, for customers who appreciate the time and attention put into each garment. This way of working isn't going to dress the masses, but that's not the point.

It feels good to know most of what gets made is headed to someone in particular. It allows for more unique and special pieces for YOU, and ensures the high quality you deserve.
